Recommitment is here

Team in Training has a lot of commitments. Commitment to the cause, first and foremost. Commitment to training. Commitment to my team members. Commitment to fundraising. All of those are commitments I made the day I decided to do another hike for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.

Tomorrow is when it gets official with my “Recommitment.” Basically it’s my last chance to walk away from those commitments. After tomorrow, my commitment will be official, as I sign an agreement to raise the minimum required for my event. If I don’t raise it, I owe it.

Thankfully with all the friends and family that have stepped up and already donated nearly a third of my goal, I think I’ll be set with the rest before my hike. Of course, that won’t happen without your help. So… if you’ve been meaning to donate and just haven’t gotten around to it, here’s your chance. Help me get to 50% before the end of the holiday weekend!

As mentioned in an earlier post, I’ve added a little incentive: Anyone who donates before the Fourth of July will be in the running for some homemade yummies from baker Jodi. I’ll mail ’em to wherever you are, even overseas! How could you top that? A care package when you aren’t even in college anymore.

I may be a bit quiet the next few days as I’ll be in Chicago visiting Noah (my college friend and honoree for this hike). He’s getting married! But rest assured, I’ll be using the hotel gym while I’m away, and walking oodles to try not to fall behind on my training.
