Snow on Longs Peak trail

Longs Peak kicked my butt, but not my spirit

I know it’s been a few weeks… and a lot has happened in that time. I did an 18-mile hike south of Pacifica at Montara Mountain (photos to come) where I injured my knee. Spent the next two weeks avoiding walking, wearing a knee brace, icing my knee and praying for it to heal in time for my hike this past weekend in the Rockies.

The “big” hike (Longs Peak) this past weekend was tough. Altitude got the better of me, not to mention the snow and cold, so I didn’t make it to the summit, but I did manage to climb 2,000+ in elevation in the dark before we turned around. It’s a long story (no pun intended:-)

So stay tuned – I’ll be back later this week with all the juicy details. In the meantime, just wanted to let everyone know that I’m back home from the journey. And I couldn’t have done any of it without your support. So thank you!
