Name that photo: Recognize that dead car?
I’ve hiked past this car many times in the last few years. Hint: It’s next to a major trail in a major state park; do you know where it is?
Post your guesses in the comments below – you can ask questions, take stabs in the dark or just share your fictional (or legit) story on how it got there. Points for accuracy and for humor.
The prize: Hikerly fame. I’ll be keeping a very unscientific leaderboard with points awarded for accuracy, sense of humor and anything else I think deserves credit, and when we’re all done, the person who has the most points will be honored on hikerly.com and get my personal adoration. What more could you want?
Check out previous “Name That Photo” challenges. Current leader: “KMberger” with 10 points.
Drive your way up the leader board: Where’s that car?
Update June 23, 2012 Randy got it spot on: It’s the Coastal Trail in Mt. Tamalpais State Park. The story behind a car is a bit of a mystery. I reached out to the internet and a few folks from the California State Parks looking for answers but have yet to find anyone with the full story. Will ask a ranger next time I meet one at Mt. Tam. If you have any information, do tell!
Leaderboard as of 6/23/2012
- TIE: KMberger and Randy – 10 pts
Mount Tam along the Coastal Trail. Believed to be a 1941 Pontiac.
You got it Randy! 5 points for the answer + another 5 for the extra info on make and model.
That puts you and KMBerger tied on the leader board:-) Another photo to guess coming soon.
